NCC Fines MTN, Glo, Airtel, Demands N647 Million Over Poor Service

The nation’s regulatory body said
its action was sequel to the multiple complaints of rip offs and poor
quality service against global systems for mobile-communication (GSM)
operators in the country.
The executive commissioner in charge of
stakeholder’s management in NCC, Dr. Okechukwu Itanyi stated this during
the NCC Special Day at the 25th Enugu International Trade Fair.Aside
from being made to pay the penalty, the GSM operators were also banished
from selling any new SIM card, nor engaging in promotions in their
networks throughout the month of March.
